Students of the Minerva Art Academy participate in “Mapping Landscape”.
A way of analyzing the landscape is to distinguish the landscape in several layers in which each layer stresses a particular story of the landscape. Nowadays human is considered to be the most important force behind the geological change and this cultivating force contributes to the solidification of the landscape. During this Off Course (February / June 2016) Minerva students accompanied by Cora Jongsma are exploring the heath landscape of the Balooërveld in the region of Drenthe by mapping this area with a great variety of historical remains. Felting techniques, reading landscape and maps ensures new research insights expressed in personal layers of wool.
